Lymphoedema Association of South Africa

Your questions, answered

What is this year's congress about?

We've called it Beyond CDT. Most of us know complete decongestive therapy well, because it's what we do every day. This congress is about what sits beyond it: what the latest research is actually showing, where fascia fits, what GLP-1 medications mean for our patients, and how the shifts in technology and medicine of the last few years are reshaping lymphoedema care. It isn't the same programme with new speakers. We've built it to challenge how the room thinks.

Certified lymphoedema therapists working with these patients. We're also opening it to healthcare professionals who are curious about this field but not yet certified in it. You don't need to be a specialist to get value from the two days.

Friday 30 October, 13:00 to 17:00, and Saturday 31 October, 08:00 to 17:00, at the aNew Hotel and Convention Centre at OR Tambo, Johannesburg. The venue is a few minutes from the airport, which makes it straightforward if you're flying in.

Through Quicket. Click the registration button on this page and it will take you there. You'll complete your details and pay in the same process, and you'll receive your ticket by email.

Both days of the full programme, all meals and refreshments and your CPD points,

LAOSA members pay R2 150 early bird, or R2 400 from 16 September. Non-members pay R2 650 early bird, or R2 900 from 16 September.

Midnight on 15 September 2026. Prices go up automatically from 16 September, so it's worth booking before then.

No, everyone is welcome. Members do pay R500 less. Annual membership costs less than R600, so if you're planning to attend it's worth checking whether joining works out cheaper for you.

Yes. Email finance@laosa.co.za and we'll send you a formal invoice for reimbursement or for your practice to pay directly. Quicket will also send you a receipt automatically.

No, registration covers both days. The programme is built to run as a whole, and the Saturday sessions build on the Friday.

We can transfer your place to a colleague at any time, so let us know if someone else can use it. We're not able to refund after 15 October 2026, because our numbers are committed to the venue by then.

Points are still being confirmed, but it's usually around 10-12. Our CPD points are allocated through the South African Society of Physiotherapy. We'll publish the final number as soon as it comes through.

All meals and refreshments across both days are included. There's a dietary requirements question when you register, so please fill it in properly and we'll pass it to the venue. If yours is complicated, email us and we'll speak to the kitchen directly.

Yes, and it's free.

Something more relaxed after the Friday sessions, either a dinner or drinks and canapés. We're still finalising which, and we'll confirm well before the day. In our experience it's where the most useful conversations of the whole congress happen, so we'd encourage you to stay.

The aNew is the venue itself, so it's the easiest option if you'd rather walk downstairs than drive. There are several other hotels within a short drive of OR Tambo

No. The congress is in person only and we won't be recording it. Some speakers will share their slides, at their discretion.
